Mom’s Originals View Comments
Alright, here goes my first review!
I heard about Mom’s Originals through Twitter when I was trying to find local St. Louis people to follow. They’re a family owned (women-owned too I might add!) company based in St. Louis. I love supporting local and small business so I knew I had to give them a try. Plus, their gourmet pretzels combine all of my favorite tastes and guilty pleasures into one handheld treat. One salty pretzel, wrapped in caramel, dipped in chocolate (dark or milk), then either rolled in nuts or drizzled with white chocolate. Are you salivating yet?
I rarely get a craving for sweets, but the combination of salty and sweet really gets me. My favorite candy bar is Take 5 (pretzels, caramel, peanuts, peanut butter, and milk chocolate) and I love Pretzel Flipz (little pretzels covered in chocolate). Well, Mom’s Originals didn’t disappoint.

I purchased my Mom’s Original pretzel from The City Gourmet, who just went through a recent transformation (from the City Grocer). I was out the door with my Mom’s for $3.25. If you think that’s a little steep, their website comes in a little cheaper. A 6-pack of pretzels runs you $16.95 and if you live in St. Louis you can save on shipping and pick them up at their location in Olivette. Or if you’re like me, and can’t control yourself and eat just one, buy them individually.
Let me just say, this Mom’s Original was awesome. The pretzel was salty and crispy and not too dry and the caramel and choccolate mixed well together. I liked that it didn’t taste like most chocolate candy, it wasn’t too sugary or greasy. If this is how they taste from the store, I wonder what they actually taste like fresh from the headquarters!
I would definitely recommend Mom’s Originals to anyone that likes sweet/salty treats like I do. It also feels great to support your local St. Louis businesses. If you’ve tried Mom’s Originals leave a comment and let me know how you liked it!
