Oktoberfest in Soulard 2009 View Comments

Oktoberfest in Soulard

What a great South City weekend!  On Saturday the weather was so nice, so Zack and I went to Oktoberfest in Soulard.  We got there around 1pm, parked on Broadway and walked up from behind the stage.  I had heard it was $5 to attend, but we didn’t pay and no one came up to us asks  us for a  wristband (we didn’t even get carded).

Anyway, of course we had to get souvenir mugs for $13 each (filled with beer, of course!) and then refilled them once for $9 each.  That was enough to get us good and toasty.  As for food, we found out that the brats inside Farmer’s Market were much cheaper than the ones at Oktoberfest.  I got one for $2.25 (vs $4) and Zack got a 1/4 lb. chili cheese dog for $2.50.  I also overheard someone saying they would  refill your beer mug up for $5 (instead of $9).

We had a great time at the fest.  We saw chicken poop bingo, crazy polka dancers, and sausage eating.  I also loved the farmer’s market.  It was my first time there and I’m definitely going back for some fresh produce!  It’s cheaper than Schnucks and looks so much better.

Did you go to Oktoberfest?  Which day and how was it?

Soulard Oktoberfest is by far on the best events in St. Louis. The beer and food is great, the atmosphere is incredible and the people watching is unforgettable.
