    Tower Grove South: Bob's Shipwreck of Fools, The Amsterdam, Tower Pub.

    Tower Grove East: Rileys Pub, Petra Cafe and Hookah Bar.
  • Been to all of those places except Riley's and I'm going there on Friday. My regular hang out closed so now I have to find a new neighborhood bar to go to.

    Which? Stella Blues? Gawd I miss their wings.

    Where are Local Harvest Cafe and Grocery, SweetArt in Shaw, Sasha's on Shaw...and yes, Blues City Deli?

    Too many to name, actually. South City is packed to the gills with places to eat and drink.

    Try the Hide Away (on Arsenal near Hampton) for a really cool oldtime piano bar; Chimichanga's on South Grand for cheap margaritas and a oneway ticket to a headache + sickday; Berix in Bevo for Bosnian lunch, coffee, and pastries; Urban Eats in Dutchtown for wraps; the Chocolate Bar for, well, chocolate and romance; nearby Park Avenue coffee for a bazillion flavors of Gooey Butter Cake; Diner's Delight in the Gate District for some soul food; Feraro's in Soulard for a slice of "Jersey-style" pizza; coffee and cookies in an 1860s-era Lutheran Church at Crave on SLU's Med campus; umm...drinks name and themed after each one of the city's 28 wards at the Royale; falafel sliders at 2am at Sandrina's near the State Hospital; great art and REALLY strong joe at the Broadway Bean in the little-known Patch neighborhood...

    As I said, too many to list...
  • My boyfriend used to bartend at Parkside, a bar in the old Erato space on Grand, so we would always hang out there. They weren't even open a year.

    You're right, there are too many to name! That's what I was just throwing out some ones I frequent a lot and enjoy. Stella's was the first place I went when we moved here :).

    Out of your list I've been to Sasha's, Chimichanga's, Park Avenue coffee, Feraro's, Royale, and Sandrina's. I'll have to put the others on my to-do list!

    I'm glad you've sampled a lot of South City already!

    Don't forget:

    Onesto for pizza (Princeton Heights);
    Map Room for spiked coffee and lemonade, plus music, poetry, etc.--my favorite coffee shop in the city (Benton Park);
    Venice Cafe for drinks and all-around quirkiness (Benton Park);
    Stellina Pasta on Watson for handcrafted organic pasta (Lindenwood Park); World's Fair for donuts (Southwest Garden); Harry's for wings and beers (Southwest Garden); Hartford Cafe for coffee, good hummus, and more music/poetry (Tower Grove South); Carondelet Bakery, the city's oldest (in the Patch neighborhood's "Ivory Triangle" business district); the Hi-Pointe Theater, Turtle Park in Dogtown, Adriana's/Amighetti's/Gioia's/Zia's/Missouri Baking Company on the Hill; Everest Cafe in the Grove for Nepali food...

    Sorry, I am beyond obsessed with St. Louis.

    Also, don't forget North St. Louis's Crown Candy, Cornerstone Cafe, Goody Goody Diner, Harlem Tap Room, etc...
