Blogebrity in St. Louis View Comments

If you’re haven’t heard (and you probably haven’t, if you’re semi-normal) The Pioneer Woman (aka Ree Drummond) was in St. Louis last night for a book signing.  After blogging for just over three years about photography, cooking, homeschooling, and life on the ranch, she published a cookbook.  If you are ever in need of a delicious and comforting recipe, head over to her site and grab one!  I’ve made quite a few of her recipes and recommend the Marlboro Man Sandwich, potato salad, pico de gallo, lasagna, …well, the list could go on forever.

I even take pictures of my cooking attempts:
Lasagna - the BEST! Mystery Rolls French Breakfast Puffs Pot Roast Cooking Lasagna Pico de Gallo Mexican Lasagna Hot Crash Potatoes Breakfast Casserole Steak Sandwich

She arrived at the Christ Church Cathedral with Marlboro Man and her two punks (sons) and started around 7pm.  They were all so adorable and gorgeous in real life.  Ree even did her Ethel Merman impression, which I think will become standard in every city.  Ree, you should just come out singing!  Check out the video I got (that I forgot to post yesterday).

Since I got there at 5pm, I was in the first row and got to be first in line for the book signing :) !  I’m kind of bummed the picture of Ree and me didn’t turn out better, but at least we were both looking and had our eyes open.  And look, we almost have matching dimples!

The Pioneer Woman! AKA Ree Drummond

I had planned on chatting her up about my small town boyfriend, how he loves the MM Sandwich, my blog, my sister who’s going to see her in Atlanta, our dogs, etc… but all I managed to get out was about Zack and how I’m from Ft. Lauderdale.  I was surprised that I was that nervous to meet her, but I guess it’s like meeting a reality TV star or something.  You read about their lives or watch them on TV so often that you feel like you know them.

Anyway, I was out of there by 8:15pm :) .  I saw on Twitter that a lot of people were there past 11pm, yuck.  But at least Ree was smiling at the end and nice to each and every one of us (even the ones that cut the line – tsk tsk).

I’m excited to try out some of the new recipes in the book, like chili and cowboy calzones.  Below are some of the pictures I took last night.  It was hard to get a good picture with my little Canon point and shoot because of all the lights in the Cathedral. (Click on a picture to see the rest on Flickr).

I love Ree's work and I almost went to this, but looking at the size of the crowd I'm kinda' glad I didn't. Thanks for the report, though!!!

I was there too!!! I got Ree's, Marlboro Man's and Bryce's autograph! Very exciting. You can see me in your last shot.
  • Another "not so normal" PW fan that was there!! I'm not a photographer, and I don't enjoy cooking any longer, but I love her blog about her life on the ranch, the punks and MM.

I'm sure I will make some of her recipes. Cooking is just not the primary focus of my life any more, as it was when we were raising our family.

I went to her signing in KC and LOVED meeting her!
Where do I snag one of those shirts? Can I buy it online?
  • WOW - you had great seats! All your photos turned out much better than mine, as well :-)
  • The advantage of going solo :) I could sneak in anywhere... plus I got there at 5pm. I wish my pictures came out better but at least I know she'll write a whole post on St. Louis with awesome pics I'm sure!
